Malacca Roadtrippin' Part II

Breakfast next morning was settled in our hotel. Marvelux provided an international buffet spread with fairly decent variety which include both Chinese and western selections. Compared to the food we had the previous day, this very much pales in comparison but served its purpose of filling up our hungry tummies.

We did some shopping at the shopping centers near Hatten Hotel before heading off for lunch at Restoran Ole Sayang. The restaurant was pretty packed by the time we arrived and it was difficult to get the attention of their service staff. However, the really good authentic Perankan food more than made up for the shortfall.

Some of their must try include the Keropok (RM1 per plate) which you can buy a big bag from them to bring home at RM10, Ayam B. Keluak (RM32 for a large plate) and Cendol (RM2.50). Please also try their Sambal Belacan! For someone who doesn't eat chilli, I have to say that it's really worth a try.

L to R: Ayam Pong Teh (S) RM13, Chap Chai (L) RM19, Ayam B. Keluak (L) RM32
Itik Tim (L) RM30
Ikan Jenak (L) RM80
Udang G. Asam (S) RM40
Satisfied us with big bags of Keropok!
We made one last trip to Jonker street before leaving for Singapore. You get to see a different side of the street in the morning as compared to at night. The reason why we were back there was for the Nonya Kuehs (mentioned here) but was told that they did not open for the day :(

We spotted the famous Jonker88 that sells Penang laksa.
This store sells merchandises from the superhero series. I really love the Ironman stuff toy.

We spotted a Mamee museum further down the street. Apart from the dried instant noodle snack packs that we are so used to, they also sell instant noodles that requires cooking. We were amazed. If you walked further in, you will noticed that their well-lit cafe serves as a good photo taking place and if you are lucky enough, you can even go for their little Mamee tour that is FOC!

We finished off with a visit to San Shu Gong (三叔公) to buy some local souvenirs. I really liked their durian jam and bought one home! Near to it is the famous Chung Wah Chicken Rice which we never got to eat :(

With that, thank you for reading.
